What is Evoeh?
Evoéh is a project that observes and reconciles two sources of Spanish music: Art Music and Popular Music.
The constant interchange between both has given place to an art that has produced a very deep impact on us. Art Music sought perfection and the sublime in what man can come to give; Popular Music possesses a root that sinks into the ground and a strength that makes it go straight to the heart.
On the other hand, the word Evoéh is a ceremonial song or ritual in honor of Dionysus. It comes from an interjection in Greek, euoi, which is a cry of joy. It is intimately related to Orpheus, the myth which is most related to the music of our cultural roots.
